Here at Subcultured, there is one five-day event that has been in everyone’s mind since the beginning of February: London Fashion Week 2016! The thought of designers showcasing their AW 2016 collections and of fashionable outfits parading around Brewer Street was enough to make us jump on a train to London, armed with cameras and notebooks, in search of the perfect street-style shots.
When Kristiana and I reached the BFC Showspace on Sunday, February 21, it was early in the morning and the crowds were sparse –less than the hectic hordes of fashionistas on Friday and Saturday (according to our Editor-in-Chief, who was in London since the beginning of the event). However, the street soon started filling up with people promoting brands, guards, photographers and regular women and men showcasing their style, posing for pictures, interacting lively. An explosion of colours and outfits, the 2016 London fashion space gave us exactly what we needed; we went around, snapping pictures and talking to bloggers, photographers, models, fashion students, aspiring designers… Before we knew it, we were taking the tube to Pimlico and camping outside the Tate, watching the people entering and exiting the Topshop Unique AW 16 show. Show-goers included personalities like Karlie Kloss, Anna Wintour, Vogue fashion editor Sarah Harris, fashion bloggers Victoria (InTheFrow), Suzie (HelloOctober) and Andini (Adventures of an Anglophile)…
We were so happy to talk to some of our favourite fashion inspirations (and give them a good hug), and to attend various shows like Holly Fulton, the International Fashion Showcase, the Harper and Blake presentation, the Danielle Romeril presentation, House of MEA at Fashion Scout and Moixa.
